Congrats to the boy's team! Not only did they win their first Intercity Track Championship since 1955 (56 years!), they won in dramatic fashion ... lots of praise to go around on the boy's team but I am not sure I'll ever forget the 1600M Relay ... they ran like the meet depended on it ... and it did. I would pay to have a picture of the determination (fear?) in Brent's eyes as he ran the last leg ...priceless!
Girl's team ... 2nd place finish! Congrats to Emily Clay for setting a new school record in the 1600M, 5:15.32! Also to Ericka Simple, a City Champion in both the 200M and 400M. Ericka, Liz Composto, Emily Clay and Sydney Billingsley were point scoring machines at Intercity, scoring in every event they were entered in! The meet was filled with season bests and PR's across both Varsity and Junior Varsity. As a team, we competed, supported our teammates and were gracious in victory and disappointment You represented University High School well and as a team should be proud of yourselves!
