Track Notes, 5/5/13

I have been hoping to have information from the Conference Athletic Directors regarding the conference meet.  As you know, we were unable to finish the meet Friday night due to lightening. Thanks to all the parents, family and friends who endured the long night Friday.  We hope we might see even a few of you tomorrow!  Here's what I do know.

It looks like we will be finishing the meet tomorrow night.  The girl's meet has the 200 and 4 x 400 to finish.  We currently hold a slight lead in the meet with these two events left.  Mahomet Seymour is close behind.  We both have very close times entered in the 200 and it looks to be a very close race.  In the 200, M/S has the two fastest times entered and we have the third and fifth.  M/S also has the fastest time entered in the 4 x 400.  We will, however,  not enter these last two events having conceded anything ... we have every intention to compete for this title.  Our team would love to send our Seniors out with a Conference Championship.

The following athletes will compete tomorrow:

200:  Erika Simple and Spencer Smiley

4 x 400: Marissa Jordan, Maya Mwilambwe, Micayla Mathieson, Chante Stonewall ... Michelle Styczynski will be the alternate.

The meet participants will get out probably around 2:15 and leave around 2:30 if they agree to continue the meet at 4:30.  We’re also hoping to bring one bus with any other team members that would like to come once school is out. (Varsity distance girls will be staying behind to workout due to the short week we have before Sectionals) If we cannot get this bus, everyone not running will practice instead.

Remaining events for the boys are: 1600, 200, and 4 x 4.  We are also hoping to get the second heat of the boy's 300 hurdles re-run since there was a clock malfunction and they received no time.  Pontiac currently leads the boys meet with 89 points and we are tied with MS at 87.

I will forward any new information as soon as I get it ... not expecting anything until mid to late morning.  If you know of anyone who does not get these e-mails, please help to see they get this info.

Thanks for your patience ... wish I could give you complete information, but this is all we have right now.
