Track Notes, 5/1/13

Congratulations to the girl's for their Fresh/Soph Cornbelt Conference Championship last night.  Thanks to all the parents, friends and family who came out to support us.  Special thanks goes out to Mr. and Mrs. O'Shea for providing the team with drinks and snacks for the meet!  We had so many athletes who had a really good meet ... event winners include Ashley LaFayette in the 1600, Shannon Supan in the 3200, Chante Stonewall in the 100M Hurdles, 300M Hurdles and the 4 x 100 which also included Micayla Mathieson, Spencer Smiley and Kara Henry.  Dasha O'Shea tied for 1st in the High Jump after several tie breaking attempts.  Equally as important were our athletes working to earn those next 5 scoring positions.  Those points helped us beat a very good Mahomet Seymour team.  I am very happy with this performance ... an entire team win.  Distance, sprints, jumps and throws all contributed ... a balance coaches love.  Nice job ladies!

Special recognition goes out to Chante Stonewall who set a new school record in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 46.60

This Friday is the Cornbelt Conference Varsity Championship Meet.  It will be held at Prairie Central High School in Fairbury, IL.  All athletes participating in the meet will be dismissed from school at 2p with the bus leaving promptly at 2:15.  All other team members are expected to attend the meet unless excused by Coach Neisler or myself.  The bus for team members not participating in the meet will leave U-High's front circle promptly at 4:15p.  Please be prepared for rain and cooler temps!
