Track Notes, 3/10/14

Congratulations to our Pioneers Girl's Track team for their performance on Saturday.  Many of our athletes experienced their first high school track meet and we thought the meet was a good start for the 2014 season.
Special mention to our medal placers and finalists:
Katie Reeves tied for 3rd in Pole Vault
Michelle Styczynski and Brianna Pinter placed 2nd and 3rd respectively in Long Jump
Gabi Jacobs won the Shot Put
Micayla Mathieson made the finals in the 60m Dash
Chante Stonewall and Kara Henry placed 1st and 3rd respectively in the 60m Hurdles
The 4 x 800 team of Sydney Billingsley, Madigan Landess, Shannon Supan and Amber Nanni won
The 4 x 200 team of Nia Gilbert, Spencer Smilely, Raven Hughes and Chante Stonewall won
The 4 x 400 team of Leah Taylor, Amber Nanni, Marissa Jordan and Sydney Billingsley placed 2nd.
Sydney Billingsley placed 2nd in the 1600.

Thanks to Adam Rasche and Brent Seibring for their assistance at the meet.  Thanks to our supporters ... you guys were enthusiastic and positive throughout the long day! We appreciate it!!

Practice tomorrow is from 8a to 10a at Horton Field House.  Many of the athletes are planning to go to Panera after practice.  All are welcome ... if you plan to ride with another student, please have your parents permission.

The 2014 Lady Wildcat Indoor Invitational is this Wednesday at IWU.  Athletes were given their assignments at today's practice.

The Normal Community West High School Wildcats Girls Track and Field Program invite you to the Lady Wildcat Indoor Invitational.  The meet will be held at the Illinois Wesleyan’s Shirk Athletic Center.

Bloomington, Central Catholic, Champaign Centennial, Chatham Glenwood, Clinton, East Peoria, El Paso - Gridley, Eureka, Fieldcrest, Limestone, Mahomet, Mattoon, Metamora, Morton, Normal Community, Normal West, Olympia, Pekin, Peoria Notre Dame, Pontiac, Springfield, Springfield Lanphier, Tri-Valley, and U-High.

Awards: No team scores will be kept.  1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals will be presented in all varsity events (no F/S medals).

Parking: All parking should be on the east side of the Shirk Center.

Finals: Trials in the 60M Dash and High Hurdles. 14 athletes to finals.  All other races are finals based on seed times.
